Acrylic Painting Classes

I will be starting teaching some acrylic painting classes.  

This is a good introduction to learn the basics, gradually working your way up to more complicated paintings.  Acrylics are very versatile - they can be used like oil or watercolour.  But you can always cover over your mistakes and they are quick to dry!  

Gordon House Gallery, Dornoch

I am very pleased that my art is now displayed at this gallery.  They have a lovely cafe where you can always have a cup of tea between looking at the artwork.

From Carpet to Heaven

'From Carpet to Heaven' is the conclusion of my residency exploring the relevance of the Lindisfarne Gospels to Shieldfield today.

The Lindisfarne Gospels combine the artistic styles of the different cultural and ethnic groups of the period to communicate a message of unity across the region. I have met with local people and explored the visual language of the area in and around Shieldfield. In my work I have reflected the connections between the Gospels and the local community, including imagery from the places I have visited: Circus Central, Caring Hands lunch club, Ian Darby Partnership, City of God Church, and Barney and Jude's cafe among others.

I have found the project fascinating and would be delighted to show you the resulting exhibition.

The exhibition will run until August 1st, Tues-Sat 11:00-16:00.
Preview:  Thursday 27th June 18:00-20:00.
